Meeting Call to Order: 12:09PM

Attendance: Valerie Actkins, Jemerson Diaz, Warren Hinrichs, Jose Lepervanche, Steve Nguyen, Andrea Siracusa,Tom Snead and Sue Stack.

Guests: Hung Chen and Marc Hirst

We were excited to have Hung Chen and Marc Hirst join us for the second time. We hope they once again found Top O' The Rock a great place to work on both speech and leadership skills.

Club Business: Today we voted in a new member - Valerie Actkins. Valerie is now our newest member to the Club. We ask that all members please send her an email (vactkins@bellsouth.net)welcoming her to the Club.


Grammarian (Warren Hinrichs): Word of the day was effete (ih-FEET). The word means to be exhausted; or marked by self indulgence. Example sentence: She was known as a dreamy, effete snob, agonizing all day over a ridiulous matter.


Speakers
Speaker #1: Jemerson Diaz– Jemerson provided a speech based on project 6 of the Competent Communication Manual. His speech titled "Journey of Truth" gave us great insight in how children's books can provide us with great lessons about life and what we can do.


Evaluations
Master Evaluator was Jose Lepervanche.
Evaluator: Sue Stack was the evaluator for Jemerson's speech.


Table Topics
Steve Nguyen provided the Table Topic session this week. Everyone participated in the session (including all guests). Topics were formed in which the speaker had to conclude the statement. Statements discussed about included: my favorite animals is....; I wish I could visit....; I opened my email box.....; If I could change one thing.....

Congratulations to our Warren Hinrichs who was voted best Table Topic Speaker.

IMPORTANT MEETING NOTICE
Next week's Toastmaster will be Jose Lepervanche. We will be having a special meeting, where we will have an evaluation board. One speaker (Tom Snead) will speak and all those who volunteer to be evaluators will evaluate the same speech, just like a contest.


WE NEED ALL MEMBERS who want to improve their evaluations or evaluate for the first time to step forward as evaluators. If you are working on your CL, evaluating can go towards your CL goal.
