Speakers:
Printella Bankhead completed project no. 6 from the Basic Communication Manual – Using
Vocal Variety. Her speech title was
“Attitude and Perception”. Printella made
excellent use of vocal variety and humor in her speech. Project time was 5 -7 min. Actual time was 6:29.
Steve Nguyen
completed his final project from the Speaking to Inform Manual. His speech title was “Meditation on Loving
Kindness”. Steve walked the members and
guest through a meditation on loving kindness.
Expected time was 8 – 10 min.
Actual time was 8:00.
Warren Hinrichs practiced his contest speech “4 Principles of Growing a Balance
Garden”. The garden in Warren’s speech
was a symbolism for life. Expected time
was 5-7 min. Actual time was 5:19.
Table Topics:
Bob Warren did a couple of practice rounds
of table topics to prepare for the upcoming Area Contest.
Evaluation:
Jose served as Master Evaluator. Flor evaluated Printella’s speech. Flor’s evaluation time was 1:27 which was
under the 2:00 minimum time limit. Jose
evaluated Steve’s speech. Jose’s
evaluation time was 2:00. Kevin, Bob and
Jose provided some feedback and recommendations on Warren’s contest speech.

Warren and Bob will represent Top O the
Rock at the upcoming International Speech and Table Topics Contest on March 16.
