Jimmy Gardner did a practice speech titled “Persuation”. This is a project from the basic Communication Manual and the object is to persuade with power. Jimmy’s speech was terrific and great speech contest candidate. Expected time was 5 – 7 min. Actual time was 7:29 min.
Table Topics:
Table Topics was conducted by Warren who used the old reliable Table Topics cards.
Jose spoke about his ideal holiday…doing nothing. Time was 1:46 min.
Carmen spoke about where she would donate her money. Time was 1:46 min.
Steve spoke about the most important decision in ones life…choosing a spouse. Time was 1:25 min.
Jimmy talked about when he lets his hair down…riding his motorcycle. Time was 1:51 min.
Warren spoke about his mother’s house during the holidays. Time was 2:00 min.

Sue completed Project No. 1 from the Interpretive Reading Advanced Communication Manual. She used great vocal variety while presenting a selection from “Anne of Green Gables”. Projected time was 8-10 min. Actual time was 8:45 min.
Table Topics:
Table Topics was conducted by Steve who asked our participants to comment on random quotes from different people in history.
James spoke about how life can be seen as a series of experiments. Time was 0:45 min.
Catalina spoke about why we should always do our best and plant the seeds for a better future. Time was 1:45 min.
Carmen spoke about how to face our fear and conquer it. Time was 1:40 min.
James spoke about how we define ourselves through our actions. Time was 1:30 min.
Jimmy spoke about the circle of life. Time was 2:13 min.
Sue spoke about how to face the challenges of daily living. Time was 1:15 min.
Evaluations:
Master Evaluator Catalina introduced first time evaluator Jimmy who evaluated Sue’s speech. Evaluation time was 2:45 min. Catalina gave a general evaluation of the meeting.
