Lisa talked to our Club about how to get started on the right foot in the New Year, this includes setting new goals and new successes. She provided a few handouts that were reminders of upcoming events and important Club information. Important things she talked about are imperative to remember: officers do not forget the training that is taking place this weekend (1.31.09) at the Towers located across from UF and Shands; in February we will need to have our Club level International Speech and Table Topics Speech Contest; the 84 Challenge, which challenges us to have 8 new members between November and February 28th; and the ambassador program.

Grammarian (Wanda Brown): Word of the day was imbue. The word means to inspire and permeate. Example sentence: The crowd was imbued with Barack Obama’s speech.

Speakers
Speaker #1: JoAnne Heinrich (Competent Communication-Project 3) – Joanne’s speech titled What to look for, touched on a recent topic on a lot of people’s minds – financial establishment. As she informed us you need to be in good physical health and financial health when you retire.
